However, we are taking this further with our workFile product, breaking down traditional silos such as ECM, BPM and CRM...

It was announced back in November, that workFile would be dropping the ECM title and that current modules of BPM and CRM would be dropped...This isn’t because they won’t be provided, rather that the latest version of the workFile Vision product, will deliver a holistic approach, with the single platform delivering all ECM, CRM and BPM capabilities.

Andrew Smith stated “We provide these functions as individual modules that fit together, however we wanted to deliver as much information to a user seamlessly from any view point. The most logical way of doing this is to break down the barriers between these silos and deliver a single platform that incorporates all these features.”

In addition, this holistic approach is not just about tearing down barriers, rather it is also about flexibility and adaptive capabilities. One of the big restrictions of BPM and ECM type solutions are the highly rigid rules that make them.

“We need to be adaptive to how people work, and how they will choose to work in the future. Currently business processes are too rigid within a BPM solution, we need to provide scope for end users being able to detect and create processes within the platform, we need to be adaptive to how people wish to work, either in a more classical fashion, as individuals within a process stream, or as members of a team, swarming on a singular piece of work to get it done quickly” – Andrew continued.

“The same needs to be said for ECM. ECM needs to be flexible enough to allow agents to identify new forms of content, new classifications and have the ECM platform updated accordingly. Let’s not also forget CRM, we need to deliver CRM in a fashion that allows new forms of communication and engagement, encouraging it. There is a real need to be adaptive and flexible to how customers want to interact with you, so we need to ensure CRM can meet those adaptive needs too.”

One of the key benefits of a more holistic approach to BPM and ECM, is its spread across an enterprise. By providing a holistic and adaptive approach and thought process to BPM, you see that it can quickly be rolled out into areas of a business that previously would have been too flexible for traditional BPM solutions to easily penetrate. This means BPM and ECM can bring efficiency and compliance gains more easily to more of an organisations business.

Holistic approaches to BPM is becoming a hot topic, and One Degree with workFile Vision are at the forefront of it...

<a10:updated>2010-12-14T00:00:00Z</a10:updated>

One degree consulting and London 2012

Everything seems to be a bit sports mad at the moment.
